The Costa del Sol region is one of the warmest regions in Europe with more than 300 sunny days a year. The climate is Mediterranean with a hot summer and a mild winter. Spring, from March to May, is mild and sunny, rainy days are rare. In May and sometimes as early as April, the first hot days can occur with highs around 30 ° C.
Summer, from June to mid-September, is hot and sunny. Usually, temperatures hover around 27/28 ° C in June and September and around 30 °C in July and August. Usually, the weather is hot, but with a pleasant sea breeze.
However, when the wind blows from the interior of Andalusia, the heat can be intense, in fact the temperature can reach 35/37 ° C and sometimes up to 40 °C. On these days, the wind is moderate and the air is drying out: it is better to drink often to avoid dehydration.
Autumn, from mid-September to November, is initially warm, and then gradually cools down. There are still many warm and sunny days in October, especially in the first half. In November the weather is still pleasant, around 20-24 °C.
Winter from December to February is mild and characterized by sunny periods, but also periods of bad weather with wind and rain. When the sky is clear, the temperature can rise to 22°C during the day. Very cold days are rare, but even in these cases the temperature usually rises above 10 ° C during the day.
