Restaurants

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

There is a large number of restaurants on the Costa del Sol. Many of them have been successful thanks to their determination to bring back traditional dishes and to share this pleasure with the visitors.  You'll find anything here - fresh catches from the sea, typical fried fish, paella, or stews. Most dishes include a Mediterranean diet that, thanks to the simplicity of ingredients, variety, and flavour can enchant anyone.

Local favourite foods are present at the vast majority of bars and restaurants in villages in the province and are the best way to refuel after a day of wandering in the nearby mountains or on a cultural tour of the city.

Throughout the coast, you can sample endless seafood dishes that should not be missed on your way to Malaga and the Costa del Sol. Fish in Malaga is a tradition and can be tasted both in fish restaurants and beach bars, but also in small and hidden bars where you can literally breathe through the fishing culture of the city. Enjoy the famous sardines on the terrace on the beach in La Carihuela, La Misericordia, Los Boliches or Guadalmina.

A walk along the seaside promenade will give you a choice of several tasty seaside restaurants (Chiringuito) and I can promise, you won't be disappointed.

BEACH RESTAURANTS

Beach restaurants have a special name in Spain – Chiringuito and offer a local selection of tapas, home-cooked cuisine or sardines at affordable prices. By the way, the fact that sardines are associated with Spanish Malaga is not an accident. The original name of the town was Malaka, which means a slice of salted fish. Each chiringuita has its own boat grill, and the famous sardines are grilled in front of you in the fire – a la plancha.  These chiringuito restaurants can be found in the entire Region of Andalusia.

For selective consumers, the alternative to seaside restaurants can be found in the luxurious Trocadero Arena in the Río Real Marbella area. Thanks to its exceptional design, this magical place is an ideal place for private events or celebrations. Don't be fooled by its location near the sea, Trocadero Arena is definitely not a Chiringuito restaurant and a certain style of clothing is recommended when entering.
